    Explanation

    Top-level coordination joins two or more phrases or clauses of equal grammatical weight into a single sentence. Connectors like 及 (and), 和 (and), or 并 (and also) link the elements. For example, 粉的气味及其独特的味道 means 'the smell of the noodles and their unique taste.'

    Examples

    • 她喜欢唱歌和跳舞，是学校的文艺骨干。

      Tā xǐhuān chànggē hé tiàowǔ, shì xuéxiào de wényì gǔgàn.

      She likes singing and dancing and is a key member of the school's arts program.

    • 这道菜的色泽及香味都让人食欲大开。

      Zhè dào cài de sèzé jí xiāngwèi dōu ràng rén shíyù dà kāi.

      The color and aroma of this dish really whet your appetite.

    • 我们需要准备好材料并提前通知所有参加的人。

      Wǒmen xūyào zhǔnbèi hǎo cáiliào bìng tíqián tōngzhī suǒyǒu cānjiā de rén.
