Explanation
需 (xū) is a literary or abbreviated form of 需要, meaning "to need" or "to require." It is more commonly found in written Chinese, formal documents, and fixed expressions. It functions the same way as 需要 but gives a more concise, formal tone.

cǐ xiàng gōngzuò xū jīnglǐ pīzhǔn.
