Expressing reduplication of adjectives for emphasis

    Degree & Intensity
    Emphasis

    Structure

    AA / AABB

    Explanation

Adjective reduplication is a common Chinese grammatical pattern where an adjective is repeated to intensify or soften its meaning. For single-character adjectives, the pattern is AA (e.g., 密密 meaning "closely" or "densely"). This technique adds vividness and is especially common in literary and descriptive language.
