Expressing respectively or separately with 分别 (fēnbié)

    Sequence & Order

    Structure

    Subject A + 和 + Subject B + 分别 + Verb

    Explanation

分别 as a verb means "to part" or "to separate," but as an adverb it means "respectively" or "separately." Use it to indicate that different subjects each do something individually. Place it before the verb to show that the action applies to each item in turn.
