Explanation
The verb 继续 (jìxù) means 'to continue' or 'to carry on.' It indicates that an action or state keeps going without stopping. It can be used before another verb, as in 继续造成破坏 (continue to cause damage), or on its own to mean 'go on.'
Examples
雨已经停了，但水位继续上升。
Yǔ yǐjīng tíng le, dàn shuǐwèi jìxù shàngshēng.
The rain has stopped, but the water level continues to rise.
请继续努力，你做得很好。
Qǐng jìxù nǔlì, nǐ zuò de hěn hǎo.
