Explanation
闪闪 (shǎnshǎn) is a reduplicated adjective meaning "sparkling," "glittering," or "twinkling." Reduplication of 闪 intensifies the visual effect of light flickering or shimmering. It is often used with 发光 (fāguāng) in the set phrase 闪闪发光 meaning "to sparkle and shine."
