    Explanation

    The Chinese period 。(jùhào) marks the end of a complete sentence, just like a period in English. It is written as a small circle and is distinct from the Western period (.). It is used after all declarative sentences in Chinese writing.

    • 今天天气很好。

      Jīntiān tiānqì hěn hǎo.

      The weather is very nice today.

    • 我已经吃过饭了。

      Wǒ yǐjīng chī guò fàn le.

      I have already eaten.
