Expressing negation of past action with 没 (méi)

    Aspect & Tense
    Negation

    Structure

    没 + Verb

    Explanation

没 (méi) is used before a verb to negate a past or completed action, indicating that something did not happen. Unlike 不 (bù), which negates habits, willingness, or future actions, 没 specifically denies that an action has taken place. For example, 没写 means "didn't write" or "hasn't written."
