Explanation
担忧 (dānyōu) means "to worry" or "to be anxious about." It is slightly more formal than 担心 and is often used in written Chinese and news reports to express concern about a situation or outcome.
Examples
父母担忧孩子在国外的安全。
Fùmǔ dānyōu háizi zài guówài de ānquán.
The parents are worried about their children's safety abroad.
大家都在担忧经济形势的变化。
Dàjiā dōu zài dānyōu jīngjì xíngshì de biànhuà.
