Explanation
The preposition 在 (zài) introduces a location, time, or abstract scope in which an action takes place or a condition holds. It sets the scene or context for the main verb of the sentence. For example, 在这个问题上 means "on this issue" or "regarding this matter."
Examples
他在公司工作了五年。
Tā zài gōngsī gōngzuò le wǔ nián.
He has worked at the company for five years.
我们在操场上打篮球。
Wǒmen zài cāochǎng shàng dǎ lánqiú.
We play basketball on the playground.
