Explanation
平常 (píngcháng) means "ordinary," "common," or "usual," describing something unremarkable or routine. It is used to characterize everyday occurrences, as in 很平常的事情 (a very ordinary matter) or 平常的日子 (an ordinary day).
Examples
这只是一件很平常的事，你不用放在心上。
zhè zhǐshì yī jiàn hěn píngcháng de shì, nǐ bùyòng fàng zài xīn shàng.
This is just an ordinary matter; you don't need to take it to heart.
他平常都是走路去上班的。
