Explanation
像是 (xiàngshì) means "to be like," "as if," or "it seems like." It is used to draw comparisons or describe something that resembles something else. For example, 这就像是一个游戏 means "this is just like a game." It combines 像 (to resemble) with 是 (to be) for emphasis.

天这么黑，像是要下暴雨了。
Tiān zhème hēi, xiàng shì yào xià bàoyǔ le.
The sky is so dark; it looks like a heavy rainstorm is coming.
