Explanation
南方 (nánfāng) means "south" or "the southern part" and is used to indicate a general southern direction or region. Unlike 南 alone, which simply means "south" as a direction, 南方 often refers to a broader southern area or region, such as southern China. It is commonly used in geographical, cultural, and navigational contexts.
