    Explanation

    乐观 (lèguān) means "optimistic" and describes a positive, hopeful outlook toward the future or a situation. It is often used with 对 (toward) to indicate what one is optimistic about, as in 对未来保持乐观 (to remain optimistic about the future). It can function as both an adjective and a noun.

    Examples

    • 虽然困难很多，但她始终保持乐观的态度。

      Suīrán kùnnán hěn duō, dàn tā shǐzhōng bǎochí lèguān de tàidù.

      Although there are many difficulties, she always maintains an optimistic attitude.

    • 医生说他对手术的结果很乐观。
