Expressing "north" with 北 (běi)

Explanation
北 (běi) means "north" and is one of the four cardinal directions. It can stand alone or combine with other characters to form words like 北部 (northern part) or 北方 (the North). It is used in geographical descriptions, addresses, and directional instructions.
Examples
我家在城市的北边，离地铁站不远。
Wǒ jiā zài chéngshì de běibiān, lí dìtiě zhàn bù yuǎn.
My home is on the north side of the city, not far from the subway station.
从这里一直往北走，大约十分钟就到了。
Cóng zhèlǐ yīzhí wǎng běi zǒu, dàyuē shí fēnzhōng jiù dào le.
