Expressing reminding or warning with 提醒 (tíxǐng)

    Obligation & Necessity
    Suggestion & Advice

    Structure

    Subject + 提醒 + Someone + Clause

    Explanation

提醒 (tíxǐng) means "to remind" or "to warn" and is used when drawing someone's attention to something they should be aware of or cautious about. It often precedes a clause introduced by 不要 (don't) to express a warning. For example, 提醒美方不要采取激烈行动 means "warned the American side not to take drastic action."
