Expressing a slight degree with 些 (xiē)

    Degree & Intensity

    Structure

    Adjective + 了 + 些

    Explanation

些 (xiē) can function as an adverb indicating a slight degree, meaning "a bit" or "somewhat." When placed after an adjective with 了, it suggests a small change in degree. It softens the statement, implying the change is minor rather than dramatic.
