Explanation
同时 (tóngshí) means "at the same time," "simultaneously," or "also" and is used to introduce an additional role, action, or fact that coexists with something already mentioned. It can function as an adverb or a conjunction. For example, 她是老师，同时也是作家 means "She is a teacher and also a writer."
