The exclamation mark (！) in Chinese functions much like its English counterpart, expressing strong emotion such as excitement, surprise, or urgency. It is placed at the end of exclamatory sentences. For example, 圣诞快乐！ means "Merry Christmas!" with enthusiastic emphasis.
