    Explanation

    许多 (xǔduō) means "many" or "a lot of" and is used before nouns to indicate a large quantity. It is slightly more formal than 很多 and can modify both countable and uncountable nouns. For example, 许多人 means "many people."

      xǔduō péngyǒu dōu quàn tā bú yào qù.
