Explanation
色 (sè) means "color" and is used as a bound morpheme that combines with other characters to form color-related words. It appears in words like 颜色 (color), 红色 (red), and 五颜六色 (colorful). Unlike 颜色, which stands alone as a word, 色 is typically attached to another character.
