看 + Object / 看 + Complement
看 (kàn) is one of the most common verbs in Chinese, meaning "to look at," "to see," or "to watch." It can be used on its own or combined with complements to express different nuances, such as 看见 (to catch sight of) or 看到 (to see successfully). It is used for both intentional looking and passive seeing.
