    下次 (xià cì) means "next time" and is used to refer to a future occasion when the same situation may occur. It typically appears at the beginning of a sentence to set a time frame, as in 下次你来的时候 (next time you come).

    Examples

    • 下次我们一起去吃火锅吧。

      xià cì wǒmen yìqǐ qù chī huǒguō ba.

      Let's go eat hot pot together next time.

    • 下次见面的时候，把书带给我。

      xià cì jiànmiàn de shíhou, bǎ shū dài gěi wǒ.

      Bring the book to me next time we meet.

    • 这次没考好，下次一定要好好准备。

      zhè cì méi kǎo hǎo, xià cì yídìng yào hǎohāo zhǔnbèi.
