Explanation
建议 (jiànyì) means "to suggest" or "suggestion." As a verb, it introduces a recommended action; as a noun, it refers to the recommendation itself. It is common in both formal and everyday Chinese.
Examples
我建议你多喝水，好好休息。
Wǒ jiànyì nǐ duō hē shuǐ, hǎohǎo xiūxi.
